Hi there, I want to know if I host my site on GitHub and what if my laptop gets damaged or lost and I don’t have a backup? Is there a way to get my site back from github to publii in a completely new computer? If not, please add a fetch option in publii which would help in such situations… We enter the server details and the fetch button gets all the data from the server… Thanks

    Hi,

It is impossible to restore a website form static HTML files in any easy way.

The only solution is to use “Tools -> Backup” in Publii and then keep the saved backups in a secure place.

    Hi! I have two suggestions:

    1. In Publii – App settings, Files location, Sites location: you can choose what directory all(?) the files needed to create your site(s) is to be stored. You could put that on something like dropbox
    2. Why not put the Sites location directory under git? You could mirror that to a remote repo on github or on some other server that is not likely to go down in the same event as your laptop.

It would be nice to have an option to select between “backup to archive” and a more version control friendly solution
